Jaybird 430C: Mobile Expandable Composite Trailer with Tent
The Jaybird 430C is a next-generation deployable platform that combines the mobility of a trailer with the functionality of an expandable shelter. Integrating HVAC, extreme-weather insulation, onboard power capabilities, and cargo transport capacity into a single towable system, it expands from a compact trailer into 430 square feet of operational space while remaining towable by a ¼-ton to 1-ton pickup truck or Humvee.
Designed for speed, durability, and adaptability, the Jaybird 430C can be fully deployed or packed down in approximately 15 minutes by a 2–3 person team, eliminating the need for specialized equipment and dramatically reducing setup time. Its innovative architecture enables rapid establishment of mission-ready environments across military, humanitarian, and disaster response operations.
The Jaybird 430C delivers 430 square-feet of fully operational space from a single transport vehicle, significantly reducing transportation costs, logistics requirements and site impact. By comparison, many shipping-container-based solutions require three transport vehicles and up to three times the deployment footprint to achieve similar functionality. The same efficiency advantage extends to airlift operations, where our system occupies substantially less space aboard a C-17 Globemaster III, enabling more capability per sortie and lower transportation costs.
